Hello! This is my Expandable Christmas Tree Snowflake. It expands from a Snowflake into a Christmas Tree! It is honestly pretty cool. Instructions for how to properly print it, put it together, and use it are below:

Instructions:

First: Print the "Christmas Tree Snowflake" model in green. At layer 115 (10 layers before it finishes), add a pause and switch to white. This will allow for a green Christmas tree, but also feature the white Snowflake.

Second: Print the "Base" and the "Stand" in white

Third: CAREFULLY put the Snowflake into the "Base." I recommend turning the snowflake upside down on a table and placing the base on top of it. It is a little tight. During this process, make sure the Snowflake doesn't fall apart. I am not 100% sure why, but the pieces are asymmetrical and will only fit properly - without sticking - one way. If they fall out, it may take a minute to find the right direction to put them back together.

Fourth: Put the stand in the bottom of the base. Paint the star on top, and let it dry before removing the stand. Alternatively, if you have a multicolor printer, you could print the star in yellow from the get-go, but it wastes a lot of filament.

How to properly use your Expandable Snowflake:

If used improperly, it could be a pain putting the snowflake back together. I recommend lifting the snowflake straight up, off the stand, to prevent any pieces from falling into the base. If tilted sideways and slowly turned right-side up, the star WILL fall into the base and will be a pain to try and put back into place. Therefore, DO NOT DO THAT. Any other way of expanding or closing the snowflake should work just fine. Have fun!
